Dying Light Gets Free Weekend on Steam

February 21, 2020

It’s been five years since the release of Dying Light, and Techland is giving thanks to the community by making the game free on Steam this weekend, until Sunday, February 23 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.

If you want to keep playing the game after that, you can get a discount of 60% off, or 67% off the Enhanced Edition 5th Anniversary Bundle. It includes upgraded blueprints for a new pipe, a new sledgehammer, and a new double-barreled shotgun.

As the part of a free update, Techland also added a new difficulty called “Story Mode” — especially for those who find the game too hard and just want to see the show.

In my opinion, Dying Light is awesome! It always felt like Techland took all the best from that weird Dead Island game, successfully added parkour mechanics and made it feel like all you need to do is to run and feel yourself free during walkthrough. And when night comes and the gameplay mood is changing, you are experiencing one of the best zombie survivals ever. Dying Light is an excellent example of a fresh and interesting zombie game considering the fact that zombie games are mostly boring these days.

By the way, Dying Light: Bad Blood on PC is completely free for all owners of the original game, so it’s high time to get it. After all, we might wait for Dying Light 2 forever.
