Despite a series of high-profile game announcements during June at conventions such as E3, July is unlikely to be a big month. The summer period is typically the quietest part of the year when it comes to video game releases. With companies gearing up for the lucrative fall and winter months, there are generally just a few major launches.
But that doesn’t mean that July will be completely devoid. There is certainly a wide range of titles, both in terms of indie titles and AAA releases, across a whole array of genres. Pretty much everyone will find something to enjoy.
Here is every video game release date for July 2021.
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights
Release Date: July 6
Platforms: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is a 2D dark fantasy action RPG from Live Wire. Players will be tasked with discovering what destroyed an ancient kingdom as they fight against monstrous enemies. In order to survive, it is important to stay attentive and not let any creature get a jump on you.
Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline DLC
Release Date: July 6
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline DLC is the latest expansion from Ubisoft for Watch Dogs Legion. The DLC will see players take on the role of Aiden Pearce, the main protagonist from the first game in the series. The standalone narrative expansion features Pearce returning to London to carry out a lucrative mission that quickly goes wrong.
Fallout 76: Steel Reign
Release Date: July 7
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
The eighth major update for the game, Fallout 76: Steel Reign is the latest DLC that will conclude the Brother of Steel storyline. As well as adding new narrative elements, it will also include a series of gameplay changes, such as a fresh crafting system, legendary item, and different class of power armor.
Black Skylands
Release Date: July 9
Platforms: PC
Black Skylands will put players into the role of an adventurer who has to build a skyship. These aircraft are capable of exploring the world and can be customized to fight enemies. Combining elements of action-adventure with top-down shooters, the open-world game is all about claiming the most territory.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the latest entry in the turn-based RPG series. Players will form bonds with airborne creatures, fighting alongside them as you try to stop a legendary creature from hatching and threatening the world.
Curved Space
Release Date: July 13
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Curved Space is a twin-stick arcade shooter that transforms the classic genre into a modern setting. Battling invading spider-based creatures in space, players have to navigate around unique locations that curve. This creates interesting gameplay opportunities as bullets and enemies bend around landscapes. With colorful and stylized visuals, it promises to be a fast-paced experience.
Where the Heart Leads
Release Date: July 13
Platforms: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Where the Heart Leads is a PlayStation exclusive adventure game with a heavy emphasis on narrative. After falling into a sinkhole while trying to rescue his dog, the father of a loving family is sent on a journey through time. Telling a compelling and emotional story, players will alter the course of history and influence his family’s fortunes.
F1 2021
Release Date: July 16
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
F1 2021 is the first entry in the series following the acquisition of COeemasters by EA. It will again feature the Formula 2 Championship alongside F1, with new circuits such as Imola and Jeddah making their debut. For the first time, the game will also feature a story mode called Braking Point that will take players on a journey as a driver rises through the ranks.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Perhaps the biggest release in July is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. This is a high-definition remake of the Wii U game, releasing as part of the franchise’s 35th anniversary. Originally launching in 2011, this is the chronologically the first title in the series and allows for players to go through the game without the controversial motion controls.
Observer: System Redux
Release Date: July 20
Platforms: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
Observer: System Redux is a remake of the original game that launched in 2017. Having already launched on next-gen consoles and PC, it is now coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The remake features improved performance and presentation alongside extra features that were not included the first time around. This includes a change to the way that hacking works, fixing one of the major problems that critics and players had.
Cris Tales
Release Date: July 20
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
Cris Tales takes inspiration from classic JRPGs that features a time-traveling story, where player choices can alter the future. Players take control of Crisbell as she attempts to stop the Time Empress from destroying the future. The game has an extensive combat system that involves syncing attacks with a range of teammates.
Last Stop
Release Date: July 22
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
This third-person adventure game features a single-player narrative experience in present-day London. Last Stop puts players in charge of three different characters who end up crossing paths as a supernatural crisis unfolds in the city.
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is a HD remake of the original game, remastered for a variety of platforms. With supernatural creatures taking over the city, the player must fight them and expose them to sunlight to save the innocent citizens. With the ability to use practically any object as a weapon, it is a bombastic and over-the-top gameplay experience.
Orcs Must Die! 3
Release Date: July 23
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
Orcs Must Die! 3 is the third entry in the award-winning series, where players have to take out a horde of angry orcs in ever more imaginative ways. It is essentially a 3D tower defense game that can be played solo or cooperatively with a group of others. As you might expect, this sequel brings more weapons, items, and traps than ever before, giving players the chance to destroy even more orcs.
Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator is the long-awaited console release of the 2020 game. The title is a reboot of Microsoft’s long-running series and uses data from Bing Maps to create an accurate representation of the world. Neo: The World Ends with You

Neo: The World Ends with You is an action RPG that has been developed by Square Enix. A sequel to the 2007 game The World Ends with You, it features a brand new cast of characters and 3D visuals. With several key staff returning and a more complex combat system, it promises to be a vast improvement over its predecessor.
Tribes of Midgard

Tribes of Midgard is yet another RPG coming in July. Combining the genre with elements from survival and action games, players must battle giants who are attempting to bring about Ragnarok. Leading a team of Vikings, you must protect your village and beat back the gigantic foes that stand in your way.
Unbound: Worlds Apart

Unbound: Worlds Apart is a challenging puzzle platformer that features hand-drawn visuals and a charming soundtrack. Traveling through a series of worlds connected by mysterious portals, players take control of Soli. This young mage can open portals and must journey across the worlds to defeat an evil power that is threatening to break reality.
The Ascent

The Ascent is an action RPG with a cyberpunk theme that is set in a dystopian future. With everything controlled by a megacorporation, players assume the part of a worker held captive by the company. When the organization suddenly collapses, it triggers a war between rival corporations and criminal groups seeking to take control. You are tasked with uncovering the mystery behind the collapse and stopping the warring factions from seizing power.
Eldest Souls

Eldest Souls is a boss-rush game featuring gameplay inspired by the likes of Dark Souls. Seeking vengeance upon the world, the Old Gods unleash a series of terrible monsters on the world. As the mightiest warrior humanity has left, it is up to you to defeat the enemies using a powerful greatsword.
Little Devil Inside
Release Date: July TBA

Little Devil Inside is an action-adventure game that features single-player gameplay along with co-operative multiplayer. With RPG elements, the game tasks players with surviving in and exploring an open world. There are multiple locations and a series of challenging objectives to complete, with a variety of weapons available to use.
